Alberto Gonzales Resigns
August 27, 2007 by Jeff Pritchard

Finally after all of the Senate hearings, after all of the deception, after all of the lies, after all of the “I Don’t Recall”’s: Alberto Gonzales has stepped down. This comes as no shock to some seeing as he was constantly being made to testify in the Senate, and there was a push in the House for his impeachment.
Seeing Gonzo go is a great step for America towards cleaning up the mess that Bush and his cronies have made in Washington the past few years; and, although Gonzo is leaving, the congress’ investigation into the firing of those U.S. Lawyers and the Illegal Wiretapping program can not come to a halt. Alberto Gonzales needs to be held just as accountable now, as he would be if he was the sitting Attorney General. He took place in some shameful programs and he needs to be brought to justice for what he’s done, Attorney General or not.
This is just another domino to fall in the Bush administration. First we saw Donald Rumsfeld go after the mid-term elections. Then we saw Karl Rove go earlier this month. We can only hope that this won’t be the last person from the bush administration to have to leave Washington before January of 2009.

Tony Snow left as well, he didn’t make very big news though.
