Edwards Would Continue The Presidential Dynasty

December 30, 2007 by Joshua Davis

Bill Clinton was one of the best presidents of all time. Conservatives would argue Reagan was the best modern president. And both groups can agree on one thing, they’d love to see their choice candidates views propelled. But to endanger the American Democracy where each group gets to see their favorite man (or woman) in charge is a scary proposition.

CNN reports that of the top three Democratic candidates, two of them would have Bill Clinton play an important role in their administration:

“I think it’s unrealistic to think that President Clinton wouldn’t play a major role,” Edwards said on CBS’s ‘Face the Nation.’ “You know, as a matter of fact, I think that President Clinton may play some role in my administration [...]“

If any of the Clinton’s where to enter office it would mark 24 years of just two families controlling and influencing the top position in America. Our founding fathers never imagined a “time sharing” dynasty occurring in American politics, but if they did, I’m sure family term limits would have been listed in the constitution.
