McCain’s Hate Spewing “Spiritual Adviser”
May 10, 2008 by Joshua Davis
If you thought Reverend Wright was bad, watch this video of McCain’s spiritual adviser stating that America’s founding purpose was to eradicate Islam.
Reverend Rod Parsley is seen saying that Islam is a “demonic” religion, and that it is Christian’s purpose to “wage war” against it. But more than that, McCain is seen on stage with him, giving a glowing welcome to that pastor. Compare this to another mega church pastor, who McCain sought an endorsement from, that wanted America to invade Iran so we could start Armageddon.
Parsely also claimed pro-choice activists where equivalent to Nazis because they wanted to wipe out blacks. If McCain won’t repudiate endorsements from such crazy people, he defiantly can’t be considered a moderate.

McCain’s not a moderate; that much I am sure of, although I’m very doubtful that he holds any of the views that these pastors do. McCain probably just wants endorsements from these fellows because they are influential among conservatives, and McCain wants to maximize the number of votes that he gets from the Republican party’s base. This is probably just another case of “Anything for a vote!”
I, personally, didn’t think that Reverend Wright was that bad. I watched him talk for a few minutes on C-Span. He seemed rather harmless to me, although he certainly was capitalizing on all of the media attention that has been given to him in these past few months. It’s probably helping him recruit members for his church.

He needs to speak against this type of hate, because these are the same people that got us in Iraq and Afghanistan. As for Wright I did agree with many of his points, although he could have said some things better. However I felt his remarks at the Press Club where out of line, and he was just reveling in his 15 minutes of fame.
